    Food is great. I have been here several times and have never had bad service or bad food. Would recommend this place.

    Have been coming to Chef's for many years now. Starting in 2012, the quality of food took a nose dive and we quit eating here as often.We started coming back in February of 2013 and let me say what a VAST improvement they have made. In fact, I think the food is tasting better than ever.My only complaint is the wait staff. All of the gals are really nice, but one in particular is just rude and not a good waitress (and she's been there for as long as I can remember). There is a tall man that has been there for a while and though he is really nice, he is a terrible waiter. He ALWAYS gets our order mixed up, ALWAYS forgets to bring us our drinks and other things we ask for (soy sauce, chili oil, etc) and often forgets to check back to see if we need anything (refills, dessert, to go boxes, etc.). He's quite scattered.But, I'm glad to see Chef's is back on track. WAHOO!!

    I called chef's for a take out order, the lady on the phone spoke clear and was very nice, which is rare for most Chinese restaurants. They told me my order would be ready in 15 mins. When I got there in 15 mins. I was greeted and helped instantly. The host was very friendly and my food was ready on time.When i got home the food was still hot. I ordered Foil Wrapped Chicken (an appetizer) each piece was super juicy and full of flavor .I also ordered the Combination Chow Mein which was delicious, the meat and shrimps paired perfectly with the chow mein and it wasn't mushy or gooey either.On to the main course, the Mongolian Beef which was succulent, flavorful and full of spices. It was just the right amount of onions and peppers that didn't overflow my plate and it still had a kick to it .The beef was tender and not chewy at all, it just melts in your mouth.Overall I rate this restaurant 5 stars for take out. Although the prices are a little high compared to other Chinese restaurants, it's well worth it! The next time i go i would love to dine in and have the full chefs experience.

    I'm really surprised at the 4-star rating! We ordered take-out so can't speak to the service. However, the chow fun is super greasy. BBQ pork was dry and flavorless. I ordered onion pancakes and they gave me what looks like and tastes like plain tortilla. Oh, and when we walked in... no Asians... bad sign! I'm Chinese so believe me when I say that this is definitely not quality Chinese food!

    If I can give this restaurant 0 stars, I would do it in a heartbeat!My review is based solely on their horrible customer service!I was looking for a venue to celebrate my husband's grandma's 90th birthday and I stumbled upon this restaurant. We looked into it and found out it was recently and newly renovated. We came without notice to look around, but found out that the organizer Eddie (or Ed) wasn't in yet. The hostess was kind enough to give him a call and said he would be in 5-10 minutes.Long story short, I wanted the venue booked. Unfortunately, there was another party that had the date and time UNOFFICIALLY booked. Eddie had just written their name and phone number on the calendar, but they never gave a deposit. Eddie said that he would contact the party after our meeting and give them until Sunday (we came on a Saturday, so he meant the next day) to call him back. I was disappointed that we might not get the venue, but fair is fair. I called the next day and he said that he had yet to receive any email or phone call from them, but he would still wait until the next day (Monday) at noon to give me a definite answer. I agreed since it was a weekend.I called him back at 1230pm the next day and he gave the date and time to me. He said that he still hadn't heard anything from them, so the venue was mine. He told me to email him the type of menu I wanted and other details regarding the party.Later on that Monday night at 930pm, I get a phone call from him, but I didn't get a chance to answer it. He didn't leave any voicemail to let me know it was urgent. He called me again at 9am on Tuesday and asked me if I had received his email and I said no. Then he told me the horrible news: The other party called him the night before (after he told me I had the venue) and said they still wanted the venue. Without calling me or notifying me, the idiot gave them back the reservation! WHAT KIND OF SERVICE DOES THIS RESTAURANT OFFER? Crappy! He didn't even apologize for what he did!I will not support a business that treats their customers like he did me! It's disrespectful and very unprofessional! Thank goodness for Silver Spoon Restaurant (http://www.yelp.com/biz/…) who came to the rescue at the last minute. If you want outstanding service and awesome food, come here instead!

    Our Family had a Celebration of Life in the Banquet room with a large party of 60 people. Ed worked with us on the Menu prior to the event and we were able to bring photos, dessert and floral centerpieces. Our reunion was perfect and the food was great. The Ahi Salad, Dim Sum appetizers and platters of food that never stopped coming. We loved the Sizzling Salmon and the Honey Walnut Prawns, the Wok Grilled Steak and Scallops was so tender. Our guest were amazed at the amount of food that the gracious servers kept bringing out. We shared a gratifying experience and are looking forward to coming back.

    When I lived in Oakland I used to drive all the way to Hayward at least once a week to order take-out here! The food is delicious :) I moved to Hayward about a year ago and finally just went back to my fave chinese place! I dined in this time and was pleasantly served by Kyle. He was great at recommending his favorite dishes, he checked on us regularly and was very polite. This place looks a little "sketchy" from the outside and its sort of tucked in between two buildings but you won't be disappointed if you try it !I ordered the Flamming Volcano Fish bowl (for two).. very cool drink! You can even order it a little more "fruity" if you don't want the rum too strong.The Honey Sesame Chicken is very tasty! Its lightly battered and covered in a tangy honey sauce.Clean, food was delicious upkeep is up to par, and service was great.

    This place was NOT good. Don't waste your time. The honey sesame chicken had no flavor, the fried rice tasted old, and the chow fun needed lots of soy sauce (more greasy than flavorful). The honey walnut prawns were decent.The service was weird. The waitress told us that there was no more white rice, so we asked if we can get a little more fried rice instead of brown rice, and she told us no because she would get yelled at if she even asked, and that they count every penny. Enough said. If your workers are in fear of getting yelled at to even ask a question that could make a satisfied customer, there's definitely a problem. Get it together China Bistro.

    I wish I had more time to write a long review... I've been visiting Chef's Experience since they opened many years ago, and I still can't get over the amazing quality of food (and at such low prices!) in Hayward. I'm a vegetarian and they have so many wonderful dishes to choose from. I always order at least 2 extra entrees to take home with me, and I still end up paying less than one meal in any restaurant I eat at near Mountain View/Menlo Park (where I work). The flavors are delicious, and consistent--I've never had a bad (or even a fair) meal, it's always superb. I just can't say enough good--go, and enjoy!!
